If I really cared, I'd be doing something else.....
Well, my style is the product of years of frustration out of being compared to Akira Toriyama ever since high school. I think the hardest thing I've ever done making my own style (I nearly gave up drawing the first few months).
In a nutshell, I'll say this. For material on how to draw the human figure and face in a realistic way, study Burne Hogarth's Human Design books. His material is the most concise and comprehensive, in my opinion, and I learned the most from him.
Then, it's all about reading, reading, and reading on zillions and zillions of different styles.
Look for the different ways they draw hair, noses, eyes, muscles. Look at how far they tend to exaggerate proportions and expressions.
Grab a notebook and imitate them, sketching and sketching into the night. Take what you like about them and incoporate it into your own style (and save these sketches, they are great reference material, and will be a great piece of memorabillia if you ever hit it big). And don't be afraid of putting in your own touch while you do this.
Little by little, your own style will begin to surface in your sketches. It will be hard and frustrating, but the result is more than worth it. Because although you may not be as good an artist as these ppl you take in your inspiration, you'll at least be proud to say that you have your own style that sets you apart.
I hope this helped.
